APSA has held regional meetings through the United states since 2006 and has been growing both the number of regional meetings and the size of each respective regional meeting. APSA's main focus with regional meetings is to not only help build the regional community of physician-scientist trainees but to focus on the outreach to current and future physician-scientist trainees who are unable to attend the Annual Meeting. All of our regional meetings have a dual tracked program with half of the sessions focused to the undergraduate population fulfilling our role in the mentoring continuum by outreaching and supporting those that follow in our footsteps. The regional meetings fulfill the four main pillars of APSA: mentoring, networking, outreach, and resources.
